I can't use youtube at work so can't search to post a link to a vid; but that was epic. After playing that none of the Battlefield games could come close. Was the first MMO-FPS and had thousands of people on persistent continents at any one time when it first released.
It's really old now (like 2001-2) but man is it still epic. They have downgrades servers but imagine combined soldier/vehicle/aircraft/mech combat with 250 people per side.
Anyone ever play EVE? It's a PC MMO space game where you can control anything from a small interceptor to a mega sized carrier.
Whether you have or haven't (it's pretty damn cool) check out youtube for teasers of DUST514 which is going to be released only on next gen consoles as the first (?) console MMO FPS which works in unison to Eve.
Eve has corporations (guilds) which form alliances with other corporations; whatever they are called in DUST they can also be brought under the umbrella of a huge Eve Alliance. I am really looking forward to it. Using a fleet to destroy a huge defending fleet, then once they are down you send down the troops (console players with DUST). EPIC!!!
They are introducing atmospheric flight for Eve and incoprporating the ground based combat into it. Watch the video clip of gameplay on youtube and realise that the starship hovering over the ground that gets destroyed is player controlled in the PC version of EVE...
Any one know if there will be a third?
Its hard not to when all my mates/ even my gf plays wahahaha. Then again I got them into it >=D... Lmao ... I play MW2 on PS3 occasionally though.
