Steering Rack?

Post by Shhtuart »

Well after 3 days of FTO ownership, the car now won't turn right without violently shuddering :(

Everything seems perfect when turning left but the cars only doing it when its turning to the right.

Its the same in reverse and drive and only stops when i straighten the steering wheel out.

I'm not driving it (seeing as it wont turn right) but does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

note: I know the car had a faulty left hand rack end replaced 18 months ago.

Does it click or clunk when doing so? Sounds like a shot CV joint.

CHRISTIANITY: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Urgh.

Should this have been picked up by the RACV comprehensive check? Meaning would someone have been able to see that there was wear on the CV joint?

It was hoisted up and the steering/suspension got 100% all clear.

What would a replacement cost?

Just get it recoed. about $80 from memory
going fast doesn't kill you, it's the sudden stop that does.
