150,000kms and still on orginal rears?

Post by payaya »

Hey all just though about this, i bought my FTO at 45,000kms i remember noticing the rear pads were bout full. But yesterday i was thingking after 100,000kms of driving i still have 1/6th of pad life left???!!

so im guessing when i got the car, the pads would of been orignals? And still they dont need to be replaced? While the fronts ive changed 4-5 times??

I think i saw a bit of green yesterday on the pads, so maybe greenstuff pads were put on? They are meant to be a harder compound right?

Is this normal? 8O

I have no complaints about braking force though.

I had e same worry as u 2!

I realised i changed my front pads 3-4 times within the 1st 100k km!
And the rears were still the stock pads!

Seriously, the rears do not a lot of work...

But nevertheless, I changed them at 100k to match those with the fronts.

Old things tend to be not so effective and efficient regardless of wear!
My personal opinion thou.

Cheers!

braking distribution is always greater at the front so as to help you maintain control of the car. Change the ratios more to the back and you'll start having some fun

All brake pads should have been replaced when the vehicle was imported into Australia (nb. I said should have...)
