Replacing parker bulbs in 1997 facelifted headlight

Post by Sinalot »

Apart from it being rather annoying to get my big hands to the socket, how do I actually pull our the socket for the parkers. Do i twist or do i just pull it out firmly. I'm paranoid that I might break something if I apply to much pressure. Searched all over forum but couldn't find a reference to this problem I'm having.

Would it be easier if I just removed the entire front bumper and pulled out the headlights since I want to change out my high beam bulbs anyways? :(

Just take the bar off.... I had a bit of practice doing this yesterday ... lol ... It is not too hard ... Just a pain in the @ss ... I didn't take out the parker, but if it is like the high beam, it will just twist... Or it may have that metal clip design like the normal driving lights...

Your on the right track.
The socket is hard to get at with fat hands but I did mine last week end you just give it a quarter turn and out it comes. One screw and the whole parker unit comes out of the bar. You can make it easier for your self by unpluging the wiring harness.

sorry for digging up such an old topic, but does anyone know exactly how to change the park lights for a facelift model?

I don't really want to take off the bumper, since the bulb is the one on the bottom I can't see if I need to unscrew something first or simply pull it out.

Has anyone actually changed the park lights for facelift model.
A bit of guide would be great.

THanks.

I was able to do it with the bar on.. It is pretty difficult.. Lots of little gases taken off the hands, and u mostly have to use finger tips to get to everything.. Drivers side was the hardest..
I just had to add it ......

wonder if I can just pay the local garage to chnage it for me (but then they may damage stuff)... Once I take off those little hoses, is it just a straight pull out or do I need to twist it?

Only if my 3yr old son was strong enough to match his small hands =)

Pretty sure the bulb twists..

I know Supercheap Auto dodging this trial, of by the part from them, and pay a couple of extra bucks and they fit .. Maybe try that.....

love that thinking 8)
but the reason i wanted to change it in the first place was so i can put LED SMD so it matches the HID mains...

i'll buy a bulb from them and hand them a different one to install.
thanks for the help and suggestion.
