Another interesting problem

Post by dstocks »

OK, swapped the engine in my FTO ute a couple of weeks ago. When I start it, it goes straight to full throttle. It does this irrespective of whether the accellerator cable is connected or not. Have swapped the inlet manifold for a different one and have the still have the same problem (although with the new manifold, it may not be quite as bad). I dont currently have the airbox attached, but that shouldnt cause the problem. Anyone have any ideas

Did you make sure the engine you got was suited to your ute? Maybe you grabbed a coupe engine by accident?

That's a toughie!! Only thing I can think of it a badly adjusted TPS, but even then I doubt it??

My thoughts as to get it to rev it needs the air so it has to be coming from somewhere.
