Hid Lights and Halogen Lights

can someone tell me the difference and which ones are better. This dude on ebay told me that HID's are illegal now in Melbourne can anyone confirm that?

Also id like to ask if i was to get HID lights which sorts do i need to buy to fit them in? Thanks

ive never heard about them being illegal :? They come stock in some cars so i don't really get how that would work.

DO not waste your time with sh*tty ebay halogens, i made the mistake of buying some and you could barely notice any difference.. could of just been the brand i bought, but id just get a HID kit.

not sure how reliable these would be, but id say to get something like this over halogens

thanks lucky i didnt choose to buy them. So for the fto we use HB4's (9006)?

HIDs are illegal in Victoria if they are not equipped with washers/levelers. The euro cars that have HIDs as a factory option have levelers etc to meet ADR regulations.

That being said I really doubt you would get pulled over/harassed as long as you go say 6K or under. If I were you I'd spend a little more around ~$250ish and go for a made in Japan set of HIDs. I've heard stories about the quality/short lifespan of the cheaper made in China models, but then again it's a lot cheaper so it's really up to you/

^^^^^^ This is spot on. Not only vic but the whole of australia. I have NEVER heard of anyone getting done for this
