CD/Monitor Face

Post by TA »

Hey guys,

I have been doing my research as i am looking to upgrade my CD face, I have found a couple of no brand touch screen faces on ebay and im not sure if the dimensions will fit.

Does anyone know if these dimensions "2 DIN (178mm X 100mm X 186mm" will fit into the FTO?!

thanks :D

DIN is DIN is DIN. That's why they call it DIN. Geddit?

(as long as they've actually followed the DIN standards, it will fit no worries).

^^^^^^ what he said

DIN is a worldwide standardised unit for CD/DVD plays for cars.
back in the older days of car radios, they were just part of the dash. then manufacturers started with seperate units that would be fitted in the dash, but when you wanted to upgrade, you would need to fill in the gaps as not one car or deck was the same size.

Hence the now standardised DIN measurement.

Now, manufacturers have taken a step backwards in aftermarket stereo compatibility... BA/BF Falcons... VE Commodores. Ugh.
