Lost 2nd, 4th and Reverse Gears. PLease HELP!!

Post by Killer7 »

I lost 2nd, 4th and Reverse gears last night whilst doing a 3-point turn.

I'm pretty desperate at the mo, can anyone give me a link to any detailed guides so I could give this a fix.

Thanks all in advance.

p.s. I have a manual.

When you say lost, what do actually mean?

Will it go into gear but no output of power or can you not even get it into the gear?

Doesnt really sound good either way mate

manual right?

sounds like the transmission cable is loose at the gearbox linkage, check the cable on the gearbox, or get ya mum to shift while you check

quite a common problem with the FTO's and not a big drama

I had the same problem on my Manual ... except all that would work was 1st.
Selector cable had snapped ... nto a huge problem but can be hard to find one.

I just can't get it into 2nd, 4th or Reverse. Actually I can, but I have to yank it really really hard, and even then it doesn't always get into gear.

Anyone have like a guide to where and what to look for?

I'll be taking it to my friends garage later on today to try and fix it.

Thanks
