as the fto ages youve contracted 2 common problems,
if your speedometer isnt working its usually the sender thats packed up, its located on the motor.
also aircon unit lights seem to fail with age, you can try getting it repaired but its usually easier just to replace the unit, its easy to do yourself plus the units themselves are pretty easy to come by, they are generic in most mirage/fto/lancers of that age

Why bother getting a whole new aircon unit just cos the bulbs have blown Schumie? You can have the aircon unit out and opened up with nothing more than a screwdriver. Will be doing this to a mate's car next weekend if you wanted me to so a quick DIY Pkat.

No worries.
It's been a while since I did it last, so i'd guess T5, available from any auto store like repco etc. Will confirm later.
Colours... buttons easy enough to do, sure. Got some blue LED's in mine. I'd leave the screen alone though - bloody hard to do without getting spotting effect, and hard to see during day in most other colours apart from standard.

OK... you'll need two T5 wedge LED's of the colour of your choice.
Straighten the legs out, and pull the plastic housing off the legs with a pair of pliers. Then fit the T5 LED into your old bulb holder. Remembering that led's you have to get the + and - the right way round, so test before you put it all back together again.
DIY will be up as soon as my new LED's arrive in the post.
