Starter Motor

Post by Boris »

My starter motor is playing up, I have read a few topics already about the starter motor, but i need to know a few more things. 8O

Because my one is covered by warranty i want to get the best deal for me, if you know what i mean.

Ok, I'm not sure whether it is actually the complete starter motor or just the solonoid. But anyways, which is better to recondition mine or persuade to try and get a new one? Do new ones exist? :?

Because the fto engine bay is so small, and gets very hot. Would the pin in the solonoid, dry up very quickly and wear more than cars with lot's of space? Would it be better to put some sort of cover over it?

If they do make new solonoids/starter motors, does any one know part numbers, as i couldn't find them in the Parts Database...

Your help is appriciated...
