Need to get new suspension

Post by nikhan »

Hi guys. I'm planning to get new suspension for my car cause its pretty stuffed up already and need some advice.

Firstly my front is on KYB gas struts and the rear is tein coilovers. Thing is I heard that getting 2 different types can affect the balance of the car and stuff up the shocks. So im planning to just standardize it all round.

Second is that I'm kinda 50-50 on whether to get coilovers or just normal gas struts. I just wanna use it for street use and nothing more. I was lookling at the previous post from Oillie that having coilovers may not me a good idea for street use unless its softer.

Thirdly is there any good recommended street use coilovers for ma baby. How much would it cost and roughly how long would the coilovers last before needing to be replaced. Else I might just get king springs and KYB for the rear.

Any help is much appreciated. Cheers and have a good weekend

if you are just going to have it for street then there is no need to go out and get coilovers just get a good set of springs and shocks.

Any to recommend for springs? because I might need to get all 4 for my car. I reckon KYB's for my rear should be ok? Or is there any other good and realiable ones out there?

The front ends on GPX / GR pre 97 are all the same. The only difference in the ass end is the swaybars & droplinks. Springs & shocks are all the same across the board.

And the exchange rate is gold at the moment! I remember buying bits when it was 4 to 1 :x
