Picked up car today

Post by mrx »

Ok, so I realise that nobody will car as much as I do, but finally picked up the car today! First impressions?

Far better than I had hoped it to be!

I am not sure what I enjoy more, the sweet engine note, the acceleration (in-gear), or the awesome handling and balance.

Sweetest moment - taking the father out-law for a quick fang. He is Aussie V8's through and through - if it aint made here it is crap kinda guy - and we were flying through some back roads around Maitland. He owns a VT SS. Get the picture?

His comment afterwards - Damn that is a quick car. You would probably leave me for dead, but I still like my big cars.

I didn't have the heart to tell him that a stock GPX is not quite that fast! It would probably win (only up against 170kw's or something), but it would be close. After all, the V8 can talk the torque...

SilentBob - ended up with a steel-grey colour. Didn't like it - unitil I bought one!

Economy for the first two days quite good, despite many repeated ummmm...demonstrations on exactly why we got the car we did. Will easy get 550km's out of the first tank - quite respectable, but a lot of highway driving in there.

Now there is a challenge - highway driving - never have speed limits been so restirctive!

When and where is the track day on again?
