Autralian Compliance Mods

Post by andy »

I'm planning to take my FTO with me when I return to the UK next month and I need to make sure the required mods are done. Does anyone know if a fuel neck restrictor would have been fitted when the car came into Australia - so you can't put the leaded nozzle at the servo in an unleaded car?

I don't know why they try and idiot proof cars in the UK, but it seems they do.

Cheers

The answer is no, cause is the same type of nozzle in Aus for lead & unleaded.

The only changes is the size of nozzle, which is smaller in Aus.

I think it's the same in the UK, so by fitting a restrictor plate, you can't fit the larger leaded nozzle into an unleader fuel filler.

But, you think that both leaded and unleaded nozzles would fit into my FTO at the moment? I guess I could always try it (hands well away from the trigger!)

I believe the answer is "yes", as from what I understand this is part of the ADR regulations and I vaguely remember one of the compliancers telling me they needed to do this.

You should only be able to fit the unleaded petrol nozzle in the FTO, the leaded one should be too big.
