brake pads

Post by J »

first of all i have searched.

Changed the rear wheel bearing on the left side and there's still a whistle sound when i drive. I know its my pads since under hard braking it takes so much longer to stop. In fact im preety sure the rears are dead.

I need a quick fix for the time being (enough for the trip to d's bonfire)

Do lancer pads fit the gr's? Or magna's? As autobarn and other places have no clue about the fto and i dont know where to get special.ised pads for the fto. (nsw)

Any help is apreciated

No point starting a new topic when I can hijack this one :P

Trying to source some DBA 4000 rotors and RB74 pads from Race Brakes but I'm not sure which part numbers are right (and the Sales guy isn't much help

Race Brakes Sales Guy wrote: Evo 2 & 3 have db1223 front db1278 rear pads fto 2lt has the same evo 2&3 have dba402 front dba406 rear fto 2l has dba411b front dba547 rear all models eclipse turbo has dba2203 rear
Is this for the GPX or GR?

DB 1223 & DB 1278 is for GPX.

I bought RDA slotted rotors and green stuff for front. I did some web surfing and found out RDA aint that bad as compared to DBA. anyway paid $160 for RDA front slotted rotors so i think the price is somewhat reasonable.

What u guys reckon for rear pad? looking at bendix heavy duty rear pads now.. are they good ? or just overkill ?

thanks

DBA part number for a GPX: (haven't changed since I got mine) 4000's or standards:
http://www.dba.com.au/product_search_dev.php

For GR's you just need to change the model. They say they are different pre to post facelift

EDIT: That didn't work. But you can use that and get the right part numbers, GPX are:

Standard Street: DBA 411B
Street Series SLotted : DBA 411BSL, and DBA 411BSR (that is left & right side)
Street Series Golc : DBA 425X

4000 Standard : DBA 4425
4000 Slotted : DBA 4425SL, DBA 4425SR (left & right side)
4000 XS(slotted and drilled) : DBA 4425XS

http://www.ftoaustralia.com/modules.php ... rt+numbers

It's 547 for the rear plus s for slotted or X for gold series
