That's exactly the way I feel about it NORMALLY.

But when it's THIS car that we're talking about, the hell with doing it myself, this is a dream come true, unless you have 30-40k to spare on top, and even then there's little gaurantee that everything will be in the working order this car is in.

It's like saying "Nah I don't wanna Mine's GTR, I rather just buy a normal one and do all the work myself" :P
I have to work - People on the dole depend on me.

Is it perhaps because they're worried about it as a daily driver, having it overheat while sitting in traffic on a hot day, or is it because of traction problems?
that, & torque steer, understeer, potential for problems with g'box, axles, etc plus with that much power at the front wheels you have to be concerned about wrapping it around a tree if you're not careful .. (Not something learners & P Platers have to worry about .. they're all Superman)

Plus the massively heavy clutch wouldn't make it a walk in the park to use it as a daily driver either.. then again.. who would buy it as a daily..

I would!

The first thing you'll pop will be a driveshaft. They are the weakest link in the gearbox / diff / drivetrain assembly - and thats a good thing. A driveshaft is $100 second hand & can be swapped in less than an hour.

On top of that, the only way you are going to break a driveshaft is with traction. Ie a set of slicks, doing a take off at a drag strip. Giving it a kick in the guts on the street will only result in a mass of wheelspin smoke.
