Got the mivec 4speed triptronic auto, every now and then at midrange revs, if I change up I get a 2-3 second delay before it changes, and when it does it is with a jolt.
Is this a common problem, just one of those things or do I have a problem, if so any idea.
Change fluid if problem still persits consult a doctor

well this happens with my mums sv6 (such a bucket!) when going from 1st to second when giving it. If I want to change at around 5000 rpm it wont actually do it until around 7000 rpm
never driven a tip FTO so i dont know what its like, sry
From experience, I would say that the tips have a little bit of a delay in their standard form. I now own a manual as a result of this (I previously have has 2 tiptronic FTO's and both exhibited this behaviour). It annoyed me enough to warrant the purchase of a manual. Must say im much happer with the manual box.

Mine has the same problem. So what i do is i shift a little bit before the revs get to what i want, so that way i am still shifting when i want. Its just like a 1 second delay in shift. No biggie.

i guess (im no genuis) but keep in mind its not going to react the same as a manual, the same as when you go to idle itll drop to 1st gear for you....
hope my post is relevant
The gear changes should be faster than a manual.
Anymore than a second delay and would be looking at why

I also get a delay with my tip (94 4spd) and a clunk when it changes from 2nd-1st sometimes but then again my car is one sick puppy but it seems to handle driving 100km per day for work without any problem so who the hell knows whats going on

no offence but thats like saying my car shudders when i take off in 3rd but anyways..check your error codes but i can almost guarantee input sensor on the gearbox cause ive just been through exactly the same process, i think i paid about 100 give or take 20 from mitsubishi in nepean motor group but ring lander toyota better chances on that end.
