Questions...re...lowering

Post by knowhopetattoo »

When trying to order springs today I get told.........
Kingsprings don't recomend there own springs as they are made for a different car and are apparently spongy in FTO's causing bumpstops to rub and only lowering the vehicle by 10mm or so. ???
Whiteline.....only available for '96 model onwards.....mines a 94......is there a difference in the suspension from '94 to 96?
This is a pain in the ass as I wanted to fit them at the DIY day this weekend so any help here would be great.
If anyone has lowering springs to sell would also be cool.

Got kings in mine and they're fine. Put some new bumpstops in at the same time if you're worried about wear.

If you've got the time to search Ben's Suspension thread (and all the bushes talk) then you'll a lot of info in there.

+1^

Considering the FTO front strut assembly is the same as a Volvo, there is an FTO specific spring.

I would have bought them of you tenji, but anyway after speaking with king springs directly and getting the relevant part numbers mine are now ordered :)
Thanks for the help to those that answered this thread.
The guy at king springs was none to pleased to here what I'd been told via via.
Was interesting to find out that the price per pair from king springs (if I went to there factory) was 200 per pair as compared to 137 a pair from supercheap.
Yay for supercheap :)

i did some research on this problem before, got the good people at Wholesale Suspension in blacktown to install my kings ($480 including labour costs), had it for a while now and its awesome. i like the progressive rear springs as it makes the rear more predictable especially over silly bumps in the road... but if i'm not mistaken, u will find that the rear kings are interchangable (same part number) as the mirage ones
