Was going to say something, but then I decided I should refrain.

Bad luck, live and learn eh? Hope you get it worked out not too badly?

I can understand how you feel .. Loosing your fist car is tough .. Even more so when it is such a great car... But you are probably better off, if it is written off and with the insurance cash, start again ...

If (and lets hope it does not happen) the structure of the car is off, and it gets hit again, you may not be as lucky and escape without a scratch ...

^^^^ its your nchoice of course but consider the advice given :)

If u go ahead with letting it go... I would say selling parts would be your best bet rather then sending it to a chop shop. Tailights and headlights are well sought after items and interior pices and engine parts are aswell.... And maybe u can save for a new one

there's one on ebay now for 6900, same as yours. you'll get more than a few hundred, i wrote mine off and got $9000 after i stripped it down, but had bits and pieces that others didn't

Headlights - $300 - $500 for the pair
Rear lights - Another couple of hundred
Rear bar - Is over $500 with Reo at a wrecker
Front bar - Not sure of prices as never needed one
Seats - Another couple of hundred
Stereo surround - Could get close to $100 if not more on ebay as they brake easy
Floor console - Same as above, but not braking easy
Volt and Clock seem to go OK ... Especially the plastic
Speed cluster gets asked for a lot ..

So yeah on top of all that you will still have engine, box, door trims, Glass (which is a good thing to keep) all the electronics, and well you can see how it all starts to add up ...

wow man, sorry this happened to you....must really hurt

but with the price it would cost to repair, your better off wrecking your car for parts and then save up for a new car? cause 9000$ can buy you a new FTO easily :?

idk man, just my 2c

I can probably get all the parts cheaper for you (and I have some 2nd hand ones). I can get parts direct from Mitsubishi Japan at cheaper prices than youd get here

AS to the part prices quoted earlier for selling bits, I have wrecked quite a few FTO's now and here are a couple of guides (what I sell them for):

Headlights $300 for pair
Taillights $150 for pair
Stereo Surround $120
Floor Console $75
Seats $100 for pair if in reasonable condition
Rear Bar $150
Quarter Panels $150 each
Front Bar $150-$200
Bonnet $150 - 200

There are plenty more bits that people will buy off you, but you have to take the time to remove the bits and it will take quite a while to offload most of it
