Rattleing noise in centre console?

Post by Danielk »

hey guys

whenever i drive , no matter how fast, there's this rattleing noise everytime i'm driving, sounds like rattleing/electrical sparks and is very annoying haha. looks like its coming from either where the gears are or close by..

What would be the best way to have a look it? take out the console?

Thanks

Well, first thing is to find an exhaust shop you trust and get them to have a look for you (theyll put it on the hoist). That shouldnt cost anything and then at least you know if that is the problem.

I'd take out your centre console and check there isn't anything lose first though. I had a rattling noise that turned out to be a lose screw holding my head unit in place (one of the brackets, the shop that fitted it for me are idiots......)

Just ignore the stereo related stuff but the rest of it should get you there. Just be as gentle as possible, and prepare yourself . Chances are you will crack it taking it out or putting it back in, almost everyone else has. ;)
