Been interested to conduct this DIY, just want to ask if its legal?

Yes, im pretty sure its legal....some new cars (e.g. epica's) have battery's in the boot.

it is ok to do but it must be a dry cell, boxed and have a venting pipe leading to the out side of the car.

It doesn't have to be a dry cell from what I have seen/been told ... But it does have to be ventilated...

thats exactly the article i've read which motivates me to conduct that DIY.

If you decide to move the battery to the boot, it MUST be a sealed type (eg gel cell like Optima) for safety reasons. No need for ventilation with a sealed battery. Needs to be engineered too. Also has to have a fused 2 gauge cable.
