This Fomoto oil drain valve looks so promising which convinced me to buy one and after 1month, it started leaking....quite badly indeed!
Only discover it when my car was put up on the hoist at pedders doing a suspension check. It was embarassing when he dont even know what the valve do, i have to explain to him and it leaks!
Another incident was when the mechanic and i were under the hoist, he was shock to see something at the rear side of the shocks. So shocked that he called everyone to take a look.
The reason is my rear springs are actually upside down. the right way is actually the part which narrow spring gaps at the top and the wider pring gap at the bottom. And mine is just the opposite. He explained thats why i had the rear knocking sound.
And he recommend putting plastic sleeves on springs to protect the springs from knocking on each other under situations when they are fully compressed. Damn they look exactly like those u coil around computer cables to make them neater.

OMG where do i start. First off, i thought you would of realised by the amount of comments you got in your thread about the drain plug, that you would of decided not to go with it
Secondly, are you reading anything in these forums........... DOnt go to pedders

are there many negative comments about the drain valve? lol. i only see those good comments...
pedders did not charge me anything. Put the car up on the hoist, inspection as usual. Advise me of the suspension condition and quotation. even thoughful enough to notify me of the leaking valve, which is not part of his job scope. all these for no fee at all. So why not to pedders?
theres 16 service centres so which one are you guys targeting at? i went to Bankstown.
I have my car inspected twice by 2 different garages before over the l;ast 2months and this is the 1st time someone can spot the problem.
Alright, problem spotted: brake caliper siezed which cause the fto to steer to one side while braking.

Bahahahaha how many times do we have to tell them?

Its not whether BOTH the comments are negative or not. thats all ill say.
Furthermore, just cause casue pedders picked up on somethign that other garages didnt only makes those other garges shitter not pedders better

ya it dosent matter. im just expressing my experience so other members get to read them and have some thoughts.
i dont care about any garage, as long as they can solve my problems. but in this case, its the pedders who happened to help me out. so its all good.
Again, theres people giving bad feedback about pedders, becos they experienced themselves, or some just pass down the message. In my case, its a good feedback from me. It is purely FYI only.
I read enough negative stuffs about pedders but i only went for a $14 suspension check, so chill out....
Granville pedders are quite good! One of my older rides used to run full pedders shocks/springs, swaybars, front strut and polyurethane bushes. I hardly had to brake in RNP and it was still very comfortable on the street.
But yes, there are better garages out there if you know where to look.
theres oil dripping right from the valve, showing that its leaking.
Its not freaking hard to change engine oil, but its freaking easy to change with the valve. its a like a water tap.

LOL. thats right. but the problem it leak slowly and when driving, the oil leak actually got carried by the wind current and stain the rest of the parts.
i reckon the $14 pedders safety check is pretty good value. ive had 3 done on different vehicles and its shown some faults that i fixed myself. all the faults they found they showed me while the car was up on the hoist. i wouldn't let them fix anything as they are way over priced. its the kind of check mechanics used to do for rego, but now all they do is check lights and brakes and shake the wheel bearings.
agreed with on the $14 check front, mind you. Took the FTO over 6 months ago and they told me the steering rack was making noise and would need replacing, since then I got it checked from a steering specialist and they found no problem, and so 6 months on and no issues. So my opinion - take their recommendations with a grain of salt. Thinking of I was told I'd hear back if he found someone that could do a reco on an exchange basis, never did
thanks for the info! the inspection was worth and while its up the hoist. i get to see everything under it.
Noticed my exhaust was Xforce brand, is that stock???

no, xforce is an aussie company I think (it's aftermarket). not standard
Don't hold me to it but I think RPW are the only company that make coilovers for our cars, there was a group buy a while ago maybe wait a while and another will pop up. Seems to be something most upgrade to at some point but usually comes and goes in spurts. On the high flow cat front I don't know that much but I think it's just the size piping and material that is important. I haven't researched it but a name brand unit may not be a cost effective as say something designed for a bigger car like a v8? Someone with more knowledge will probably correct me on that though.
