?free spinning engine

Post by zaskar98 »

Does anyone know off hand if the mivec engine is free-spinning or not (ie will the pistons hit the valves if the cam belt snaps/slips)?

ok, thanks, just wondering as still can't get my car to start and am considering whether an inlet cam may have slipped as car coughs back through pod, but doesn't fire, spark ok, fuel ok and error codes clear. Car has 114k and original belt :?
