hump along sprk plug chamber wall

Last night, i finally got the mood to change the spark plugs and to my dissapointment, the usual socket to remove sparkplugs for my ex integra and eunos, did not fit in the spark plug chamber of the fto!

theres seems to have a hump along the chamber wall that wont allow the socket down any further. why do mitsu do that????

The original toolkit has a "special" tool for that. Failing that, do what everyone else has done - grind down a socket to fit.

hmm....i do have a black bag with 2 pc of tools inside at the back of the boot. havent look into it yet. i supposed they are the socket and handle.
stupid me! should have thought of that!

Nah, no handle, just a special tube spanner with a hole to shove a screwdriver through

yes! look nice on the outside but merciless for the DIYians! tried to change the light bulbs for the headlight (hb3), took out the wrong lamp (i went for the outter lamp) and spent 2hrs putting it back....seems like the lamp is held by 2loose plates and they have to put in such a way so it can fit. then my back is too sore to change the HB3.

comeon, mitsu can do better than that. my '88 integra is so much more DIY friendly much easier to work on. i guess thats becos of the FTO fat ass V6 engine! LOL

Bloody hell mate light should only take 2mins to change what made you pull the plate apart its just a simple twist and will come out

u referring to the HB3 bulb? havent tried that yet. the conenctor seems pretty stuck by all these dirt buildup.
but the one with the H1 bulb is really a pain...they come in 2 loose plates.

you mean high and low beam lights? both are same to remove twist and pull out bulbs have almost identical looks they just have clips that hold them in different what is running tht h1?

H1 is the low beam. theres no twist and turn action there. once the clip is released, two loose round plates (one before the blub and one after the bulb. just came hanging by the lamp cable.

Is your car a Version R mate, imported recently. Sounds like it may be the setup the importers stuck in when they took out the stock HID's for compliancing. I always wondered what they would replace them with.

I see now yeah they can be a bitch to do once you have done a few times you will get the hang of it i always thought they had a spring clip then plate which actual bulb sits in?

I dont know how many times this has to be said HB4 Low beam HB3 HIgh Beam.

If you have any different than that then somewhere along the line someone has molested your lighhts and you should probably get some counselling

yeah i reckon, the low beam is not using standard hb3 as im using H1 at the moment. but hey, it still fit and works!

hmm will try to fit the hb3 as i got spare from my ex car.
