Urgent help on new Seats! =(

Post by Makie »

Hihi all =)..This is my first post here and i'm so excited!

I have a problem here and hope i can find help..i am currently considering of ordering new front seats. Have two models in mind 1) SPN6 (http://www.autotecnica.com.au/seats_5.html) and 2) SP12 (http://www.autotecnica.com.au/seats_3.html). HOWEVER, i was told by the supplier to check my fittings and realise that our original seats are approx 92cmH, 65cmD,52cmW. I was just wondering if anyone has seats with a width of 52cm and above?

Moreover she asked me if the new seats will go directly into the existing rails. Does anyone know if our seats are able to be seperated from the rails? or are they a combined unit that cannot separate from each other?

Almost thought i could make my orders today till she dropped this bombshell question on me, guess it was my anxiousness and noobness that made me overlook such impt stuffs. Thanks for viewing nonetheless and have a great day ahead guys! =)

btw i am driving a 1995 GPX White FTO! Thanks!=)

Na mate I replaced mine and you will have to source aftermarket rails which are rare and expensive...... I ended up modding my rails to fit but was not easy however you may be able to get some engineered :?:

Just mod the existing rails ... I had this done to fit recaro's into my Hyundai Sonata, as Recaro never made rails for that car (Yes I was one about 5 people to modd a Sonata .. lol ...)

But yeah, all as I think they did was use the exiting rails, got 2 bits of thick metal, bolted them to the seat, and drilled some wholes in the metal to line up with the Recaro mounts... Engineer signed off on the instal also ... So it is all good ...
