Can i ask why the wing is illegal?
overhang on side..or?..

BTW, if they bust you with the neons on, they are ''Step Assist lights that activate when you go under 20km/h..''
obvious bullshit, but as long as they don't bust you with them on going over 20km/h, it's legal ;)

This is how my Brother is able to run a Brand new Mitsubishi Pajero with 22'' rims and Blue neons :compress:
Yes, it does look awesome..As in, makes me drool awesome.
And they actually are functional when you pull up at night in the rain, you can see if your going to step in a puddle or not.

Also like to point out, don't get Neons, run Cold Cathodes ;)
they use less power, are brighter, produce less heat, and are TINY when compared to traditional neons.

I just bought neons for the foot wells... so thats one place you could put them :P

They'll run off wireing to other lights, so effectively they will run off the battery... not sure about under car ones though. My mate had them and i think they were from the car battery too

Get a decent light controller so you an run a switch into the FTO, and just hook them straight up to the battery.
Also recommend upgrading battery, especially if you are running Cold Cathodes, and a sub along with all the other gadgets in the car.

Also note, you can Water/shatter proof them by using a small clear plastic cover, along with the silicon.

All up, spend $200 and you will have full legal 'neons' that will kick the crap out of ANY neon running car.
no matter how many Neons they run, they just cannot compare to Cold Cathodes.

I ran CC's in my FTO a while back... Definately fkin bright..

Can get messy with the wiring though if you've got 15x30cm tubes under your car with a bunch of inverters and sh*t...

I'd go an underbody LED kit... easier, same price.. bright enough still and will take an hour to install..

Wing is illegal for two reasons...
1) Sharp Edges could hurt pedestrians
2) not ADR certified.... (This goes with all fibreglass panels including front bar's etc... they can all be "technically" defected)

If the cops in a bad mood, he'll find any 'shadily' worded rule to apply... so yes.

well what Sam said was right and also they told me once that if you hit someone (pedestrian) from the front they must be able to roll over your car and off the back without anything holding them back. With the T-Wing if they roll pass the back windscreen and hit the wing they get badly injured than they are already because of the sharp edges.

Got defected twice and they told me the same thing.

well i dont know about other states but in qld neons lights are not illegal. I have done a bit of research and even gone into the police station to talk to a police officer who also did a bit of research and his finding was:

The are not allowed to be blue (as that is the police fire etc, colour) They are not allowed to flash. But heres where it now comes under the police officers discretion, the law states they are not allowed to be distractive to other drivers and thats where the police officer can do you or not do its up to him or her and there mood at the time.

As for the spoiler the are illegal as the are so *~delightful!~*

And how Fk'n often do you run into a pedestrian at speeds high enough (in a 1200KG car with ABS!!!) to make them fly ALL the way into the back wing?

how about we just put some nice big spikes on the front bar so they get impaled on them, and won't go over the car to the wing?

Idiot RTA.

I thin any Neons are illegal down here on the Central Coast, but if the cops want Tyres on their patrol cars, i don't think they will fine anyone in my family for having something as trivial as neons ;)
