FTO Exhausts
About to get a new exhaust for my FTO. A few have been suggested. Just wondering what people think of the following Jap brands:
-APEXi
-Kakimoto
-HKS
-Blitz
-5Zigen
-Trust
Does anyone know of anyone else selling one of these exhausts second hand?

not sure of anyone selling but ive got a trust exhaust muffller on mine and it sounds BEUTIFUL.
Ive got my baffler in (yes it was in on the phillip island cruise) its always been in, always gets people to look just from the noise AND ive never been pulled over by police or the EPA.
But if youve got the money 5Zigen would be a good way to go

all of the brands mentioned above are very expensive, but they are very high quality and do carry some street cred...
if you want them 2nd hand, best to look up eBay or FireSport (http://octane.nt4.com/firesport/index.php). You'll find some true bargains there, though' if you're after a complete cat-back system then it may be much harder to find...

Yeah i've got an Apexi N1 cat-back, is sounds good at the start for the street cred, but it does get annoying after awhile.
Especially "at the red light Grand Prix" People think u reving the sh*t out of it, cause of the loudness of the exhaust. As in fact u only just touch the padal.
Now i've installed the Apexi Super Siliencer to keep it quiet.

Kev I wonder which one is louder, yours or mine... forget Eric's, you could hear him from 2 blocks away so his exhaust doesn't count LoLFTO338 wrote: Especially "at the red light Grand Prix" People think u reving the sh*t out of it, cause of the loudness of the exhaust. *smiles* I'm gonig to be replacing the rear section of my exhuast system to comply with sandown's noise restrictions (They're harsher than the road laws) I'm doing a track day there in the next couple of weeks.
So for a while, I should be pretty quiet =P
Oh, for people who want to know, I'm getting an MR2 rear can and running with that to get dual tips. I might keep it on the car for a while, I like my current exhaust but after three years, I need a break =)

I've got an Apexi N1 cat-back also. But the sound level is quite tame on mine. I've got the Super-silencer as well but haven't felt the need to use it. Mind you, that's the only exhaust mod I've got. No extractors or air filter pod. I reckon these would make a difference to the sound/tone levels.FTO338 wrote:Yeah i've got an Apexi N1 cat-back, is sounds good at the start for the street cred, but it does get annoying after awhile.

Yeah at the start i had the stock air filter, then i changed to the Trust type that fit into the standard air-box. Now i use the O2 Rush Pod type.
As each time i upgraded my air filter, the exhaust gets louder & louder, so the air-filter does make a fair bit of different to the exhaust note.
