steering Rack Removal

Im going to be removing my steering rack to have it recon, i know its a pain in the arse job but i want to do it myself to save some $$$, just wondering whats the best way to approach it? And what am i going to have to remove to get to the rack? thanks

I'd advise against it... unless you have access to a hoist. Its in a nightmare position right up on the bulkhead. If you are going to go for it, I also recomment buying a set of brake line spanners:

As you'll need to undo 4 steering fluid lines. You'll also need to bleed the ps system when you put it back in.

is this necessary if im just disconecting the tie rods?

Are you not removing the enitre steering rack for reco?
