What would he do if one of his skirts cracked or needed some repairs? Can't really take them off as how they're now part of the car :?

I was thinking after i got mine painted and the lit fitted i should have got by slirts blended but as sublime says your f^&ked if you ever need to remove them or the front fender.

@ sublime, no it usually costs more (about double depending on who you go to) to get your car painted a different colour as apposed to a repsray. Costs vary but usually you can get a respray for around the 2k mark where as 4 or 4.5k for a new colour. Of course it varies on shop to shop and the type of paint and the work that will be involved to get the desired result, eg the chrome or harliquin colours are a lot more difficult to get an even result than just a metallic etc

I see, assuming it would be cheaper if the car was white. Being black it would make it all the harder (correct me if I'm wrong, just assuming).

As Simon said, it all depends on the workshop .. some will charge the same amount for any basic colour, red / black / white/ yellow/ blue etc.. and others will try to charge you more to change the colour of your car from standard..

Really though, unless you're getting a 'special paint' or a custom colour they shouldn't be charing more..

Hmm you got a point there, I always thought regardless of what colour you get they do a few coats of paint always as if they were spraying a brand new car.

That colour looks damn nice though :o

Its hard work but you will save a truck load as it is so labour intensive.

@ sublime the origanal colour can come into play but its not overally important. They say when painting cars cameloen (and other dark colours) its best if the car is black originaly. To get the best result though, its best to sand back to bare metal then spray a primmer (under coat) that is coloured the same as the colour you have chosen (of course a lot lighter). For example the blue colour FTO above, to achieve the best result they would primmer it with a pastel blue (baby blue) primmer.

Ah dstocks I was talking about the blue, I definitely looked at the chrome one, love the lights. That car's been around for a while I'm guessing since I remember somebody putting up a pic of those lights way back but back then nobody knew which car it belonged to.

The blue looks better than the chrome though imo, specially if the car gets a single scratch on it, say goodbye to your wallet :x

Yeah, that was me. So many people have changed that only the old timers would remember that :P. I cant find the good pictures of that I had now though  . Wanted to have a shot at doing something similar a bit further down the track. The lights are the only things I would take off the silver one and put on the blue.

It definitely looks do-able, but the biggest problem would be finding somebody willing and/or capable of doing such a transformation

I can probably ask around and try to find out when I'm out and about.

You know I've been thinking about this color more and more.. I'm gonna get a respray, was thinking why don't I just get it repainted this color? It looks fkn hot...

But If i had black/red interior, wouldn't the car look funny with a blue outside?

Not as bad as Red/Blue or Black/Blue

So yeah, I think Red/Black would be a cool colour combo in a blue car :P

Doesnt matter what you have on the inside, the colour is fantastic. You can always change the inside colour.
