i know a strut bar increases stability of the car, but how exactly does it do this ? i mean its just a piece of metal from one end to the other. :?

It prevents chassis flex during cornering from one way to another by bracing the tops of the struts. As the struts are where the chassis flex begins as its the terain the wheels are going over.

I brought one off a member from here, a no name one and definitly could tell the difference straight away. I do have coilovers so i think some with stock shocks would notice a huge difference

The ebay ones are fine, I noticed a huge difference when I put mine on..

I've got a Whiteline rear on which made a big difference as well, & I have a Whiteline one to put on the front as well.. So when I get that one put on I'll be able to comment on the difference between ebay & whiteline.
