highbeam/ Engine Stall problem

Hi guys,

Got a unusual one.

Was travelling form Sydney to Canberra.

after 2 hours of driving of Highbeam off and on with no problems, there was one instance where i turned on the highbeam and the engine system light and Exhaust light turned on, revs seemed to fall aswell.

as soon as i turned the highbeam off, everything was ok.

the next time i turned highbeam on same thing happened.

by the time i got home doing 20kph, turned on highbeams and the tachometer would drop, but no warning lights.

Any ideas? havent looked under bonnet, but sounds like a electrical earth problem or something?

Could it be your alternator or battery and putting on the high beam caused enough of a power drain to cause the probs you mentioned?

dont think so,

Bought a new battery a couple of months ago, also had my alternator rebuilt about 4 years ago.

my pos terminal was loose. (DC from battery)

case closed.
