Real GP-R?

Post by da_msta_chizz »

Hey guys..saw this*, but for some reason i seem to doubt it's legit..
Things i spotted..
No rear GP-R badge/sticker on the back
$13,500 for a GP-R with 46k? 8O
no Passenger air-bag ( i think?)
Did GP-R's come in Manual?
Has air-filter box..was this normal on GP-R's?
No side pics make it hard to see, but i don't think the wing doesn't have the GP-R sticker on it?

These things are making me sketchy..especially when i'm getting my L's in just over a year, and am scoping out some prices..

thats my car. and yes, it was a real version r.

they dont have gp-r stickers, just gp. yes, they come in manual, all options are optional from mitsubishi back in time of production, as picked by original buyers.
what car wouldnt have an airbox as standard?! pod filters are illegal i hope you know...

i had it at that price coz people are too cheap with things they dont understand, or inspect.

You need to do a bit of research before thinking 'sketchy'. Learn what makes a Version R different from a GPX. Its more than just the rear spoiler. Dont think V6's will even be on your plate by the time you get your license anyway mate

I always thought they had GP-R on the back..eh.
I guess most normal people don't know how much a good GP-R is worth..so the price does make sense now ;)

I have done research, it's just that it seemed a bit strange at that price, and me not being FTO obsessed for the last few months.
i know the difference between a GPX and GP-R..including the Diff, trim, weight, etc..
I will have my license fairly soon..and by then, if the RTA has banned V6's, i will find some way around it.
believe me, i WILL find a way around it..i don't care if i have to spend $1k on a special driving course of some crap, i will be able to drive an FTO before i'm 19.

If the car is bought in your name, and it is legal to drive to the current P plate laws of that year .... Then they can't ban you from drivining it... Which is why you can still see some P platers in high performance cars at the moment... I see em driving GT Falcon's, HSV's, Skylines, SS utes.... You name it ....

What happened to the days of learning in a Datsun ... lol ... Now if you learn in a Datsun it is powered by an FJ20 or something... lol ....
