Compliance "approval sticker"
I really need to know where this is located. Some people have said its on the firewall. Others say it is on the "driver's side strut" and others say it is on the door jambs. So where is it most commonly stuck? and what the heck does it look like?
THANKS!
THANKS!

the compliance plate is pop-riveted onto the firewall.
it is a small square sheet of metal (not sure if it's the green or silver one).
here is where it is located on my car.

Look
Depends on if your car was complied under the old scheme or the new scheme. Under the old scheme it was a green plate, but under the new scheme its not. As to where it is located, that varies as well. The place that complies the car has some scope there - and under the old scheme, they could be in any of the places you mention.
Sorry I know that doesnt help........

Thats ok Dwayne. The car has been complied under the new scheme and lookin at it today, I could not find anything. I looked all over the engine bay and did not find a "sticker like thing."
I wasn't looking for a green plate because as maggsy said that was under the old scheme. So not knowing what to look for the only things I saw were the VIN plate on the firewall, the tyre info on the driver's side door jamb, and nothing on the passenger side door jamb.
Wasn't too sure what the driver's side strut was so I just looked all over the front strut bar. Sorry for the incompetancy.
How should the approval sticker under the new scheme look like?
And the compliancing was done by a company called Complete Compliance in Moorebank.

On mine
On mine its just a stainless steel piece of metal with a single number on it. Mine is attached to the strut tower in the engine bay, but the normal place to put it is on the firewall. Its actually not legal (in ACT anyway) to put it in the door jamb anymore and they had a bit of a winge when it went on the strut tower.

Yep
Yep, Compliance plate must be on it. Mine is about 1.5 CM high and about 10cm long from memory.
If you have lost it, it can probably be replaced (as long as it was complied). Dunno how much that would cost though. If you end up having issues, I can ask a friend of mine who is in the compliance business to look up engine/chassis number and give you the details.
Actually, thinking about it, you can look the numbers up on the transport website (under the new scheme). If you google RAWS, you can probably find it. Failing that, let me know and ill get a URL.
cheers

Vijay (kid_dynamite) was real cool and told me about this before he left. I have a print out of the RAWS and DOTARS papers for my car. The car was complied on 26 September 2007, so that would count as proof of compliance. I guess I need to do a thorough check of the whole car , looking for a small metal place about half the size of a matchbox. Almost like finding a needle in a haystack. But ill concentrate on the engine bay.
