the flames come from unburnt fuel which is ignited. That is basically it. Unless you want to take it a few steps and a few flame lengths and a few cops fines further, then an extra fuel line is attached underneath the exhaust and there is a trigger which u can use to release the fuel and ignite it. Lol it's pretty crazy if you ask me for street use!

Oh OH OH , this i smy favourite question to answerAMACHA wrote:lmfao fdo not pass go haha thanks guys..how do they make it go certain colors?

different temps and different chems
different temps:
if its just an ordaniary fuel, i.e. gas/petrol/methol/whatever, the flame at low temp will be yellow, but by controlling the amount of air supplied you can raise the temp, and the colour of the flame will go from yellow to blue and eventually pretty much invisible.
this is how the bunsen burners that we all burnt ourselves on from school work.
different chems:
this is the coolest part. by putting different chemicals (mostly different metals) into the flame, you can get different colours. i.e. magnisium is bright eye burning white, copper makes green, iron makes red, sulfur makes yellow?
i cant remember the exactly colours now, since i havent had to use it for a while.
this is now your sky flowers (fire works) get their colours.
in this case to make your exhaust flame colourful. all you have to do is choose what colour you want, and match the chemical up to the colour, make sure yoru exhaust flame is hot enough to burn it. then bob's your uncle.
i like fires and big booommms

Temp is what id say, becuase he is running nos in the vehicle whch burns at a higher temp causing the cool blue flames as apposed to just normal flames running on petrol. though you could use different fuels eg av gas to achieve a better looking flame

lol... not a clue. That was on a old school petrol guzzler i saw in the states a while back.
Doubt there'd be enough left to burn with the fuel injection and the cat. Looks like you'd have to add fuel to the exhaust manually.
Wouldn't have one anywhere near my baby anyway!
