find me pics of front quarter panel vents please :)

Post by BorepYano »

hey guys, a couple of you might remember me babbling about me getting a slightly dmged front (fto obviously) quarter panel for free from a nice dr lady.

anyways, i've spent about 4hr so far sanding the paint back on it, probably have another 3 or 4 hrs of sanding to do.

i'm going to try to build some vents into it, but now i'm kinda stuck for ideas, and after searching on the net for a while without coming up with much.

anyone who's interested/have the spare time, feel free to post up some pics or even drawings of what u think would look good as front vents please.

i've spontaniously quit my work today so i'm going to be working on this all next week :D[/b]

have a look at the photo in 'small car meet 07' of the purple and silver soarer. it has the VY commodore flute vents in it. Maybe Z3 or M3 vents? i've seen them in MX5's. yeah.

i'm not a fan of that :?, maybe its because the shape doesnt fit in with any of the lines on the car...

here's what i have come up with:

Image

the blue circle is roughly where the stock indicator is (now i look at it, it's probably more forward than the drawing)
the thick black line is the line between the door and the panel.
the thiner black lines are going to be cuts, and the red lines are ridges.
the yellow is the new indicator (roughly, i know it looks awkward, but that's the rough idea)

inputs? changes?[/img]

There is one that floats around my area a bit, with candy blue paint.

Saw it the other day with a new addition to it, m3 vents just behind the side indicator, looked good.

Try the m3 style :)

Yeah im not a huge fan of side vents at the front. I like them on the back quarter panel. But if you gonna do it good on ya. good to see something different. i think it needs to subtle though nothing to over the top. but thats my 2c 8)

i'll try drawing again later, failing that i'll just have to buy some modelling clay or something and go from there :D
