Need some pointers with installing the leatherette covers

Ok guys i have just brought my self some leatherette seat covers from max which look great and just want some advice on how to make them look good and with not many wrinkels.
also do i have to buy the wire or do i just take it off the original seats?

Hi Jakey,

Right it was Boris who hosted pics of the procedure off site but they are no longer available. I tried Complete FTO (Dwaynes comprehensive FTO site) unfortunately they arent hosted there either.

If you do a search on Seat covers in ascending order you will pick up a lot of info from people who have fitted them.

cheer buddy what about the wire do i need to buy it or do i just pull it out of the old ones?

Its important that you use the wire already in the seats ;)

jakey, the only tips i can give you -

* take your time doing it... get it right the first time
and you'll never need to stuff around with them again

* use a sh!tload of cable ties!!! the more you use, the better result you'll get it

you can get out wrinkles with a hair dryer ;) but not too hot ok

Get a good fair of clippers to get the metal rings out is a must!! Also rip ties must be as tight as possible.

just thought let use know how i am going so far i have done the back seats and one of the front seats now i am stuck on the driver seat i cant get the screw out of the seat bealt guide because the head has been stripped grrr talk about stressfull

haha i was way to lazy and got the local seat cover man to install them for $80 and they look wicked. took me nearly a year to install them though. lol

was worth the $80 bucks though. real happy.
