Quick questions

Post by birdbrain »

Hi guys,

My baby has just done over 80,000km and I am think about changing the timing belt, I am wondering whether I should change the Cam seals, crank seals as well even nothing wrong with them?? If I have it done now ... It would save me the labour cost later on. For the Spark plugs, should I use all 6 platinum plugs or 3 platinum and three normal plugs?
Should I change all the belts even though nothing wrong with them?

If any of you guys have gone thru this b 4, please advice me. Thanks

i believe Dave (EURO) has recently carried out his major service on his FTO and may be able to provide you with more details about what you're enquiring about. PM him if necessary...

On the other hand there are also a number of existing threads on this board relating to workshops that carry out servicing for FTOs. Do a quick search and you will find some related topics...

if i was you i wouldnt changed the cam seals, etc if they arent buggered, unecessary expense, also you can go 6 platnums all round or three in the front its upto you, just mean you have to change the front three sparkies more often.

If the belts look worn change them as they dont cost much.

the most important thing to do is the cambelt, the rear sparks should require chagning at the moment as i changed mine at 130000 and i notice crap all perfroance gain.
