Version R vs GPX
I could get flamed for this but yeh I have a general performace question.
Picture this. 97 Version R tip with CAI and pod filter, stock exhaust. (stock eveyrthing else) vs 95 GPX manual with full catback and air filter, adjustable coilovers, 18'' gramlights. (haha).
Taking into consideration the VR has weight advantage, while the GPX has the grip, breathing??? advantage, what would be faster:
a) to 100
b) down the quarter
c) around a track
The easy answer to these might just be the fact that because the GPX is manual, itll be faster in all 3 categories?
Can someone clarify this? Or provide thoughts/opinions
P.S might have missed on some other factors, but I just want the general idea. Both cars have done under 70K km.

in theory the main difference from stock GPX to stock GPvR is
Suspension, rear torsion bar and the LSD including a 50-60kg difference in weight.
In my opinoin that quite a lot of good mods to help around the track.
If the GPX has upgraded suspension then that probably better than the GPR sports package.
Manual would be better than Tip assuming you can drive.
However 50kgs less is still a bit of weight to compensate for. its like removing your gf from the passenger seat...
I think its a line ball with those combos. So therefore which looks better? the GPvR for sure....so I would go that even if it was a bit slower. Its easy to get a cat back and do in intake mod...its not so easy to get the facelift front bar and GPvR spolier...
Although a set of 18" Gramlights might sway me! Maybe post up some pics.

The GPX is the yellow one whihc i would like to buy..
CarSales Link
THe version R is the one mentioned above.
around the same price too.. Ive already deposited on the Version R fab car.. but would prefer a manual, even if it is a GPX
now taking into condsideraton those mods mentioned in the sales ad, which would be faster? because now we have the LSD haha

GPX
Id go the GPX given the choices. I have owned both a tip and a manual and the manual definitely makes a big difference (and the lag on the tip always screwed with my mind).

LOL i think u quoted yourself....
but its a limited edition not just a GPX...in the end most of the mods make f**k all difference to you. The GPvR looks would be the main game, your wont be unhappy with it at all. Then just my some wheels and pick up chicks. problem solved.
You do loose a fair bit of HP though the tip box ~10kw atw however u have the 5 speed tip which is kinda cool and better for eating while driving!
Even with the manual, your not really gonna be that fast, the FTO is about looks...stick to its strengths. However the lim. ed. has some good wheels...makes all the difference in the looks dept...also I notice it has "Factory FTO floor mats"

I did quote myself
Version R in manual would be the best combo..but i CANNOT find a low km example.
My 49xxxkm tip VR is pretty dam good i reckon.. except for the tip.
Thinking from a different perspective, driving in heavy traffic, ill laugh all th way to the bank over the manual. And maybe 99% of the time, manual is a pain in the arse, except when youre fanging it.
But ill go and have a look at Clyde's LE GPX. Nothing to lose.
(Keep this a secret)--> I bought the Version R first go. Saw the thing (the first FTO i went looking for) and fell in love on the spot..hahaha

the yellow one is mine .. 13k ???lol ..no way ..i am not going to sell it for that price ,some one offered me 15k cash and i didnt even let it go whether you belive this or not ....i know there are many ftos for sale around 10k in the market .. but the price tells the quality ..check out the kms and the condition..khunjeng wrote:thats a limited edition which comes with LSD. Has some good wheels and a few good mods like suspension. If u like the color you could go worse than that. HKS front bar is also nice..price excessive, give him an offer of 13k and go form there!
not a bad one by the looks of it actualy.
the coilover suspension, wider throttle body, momo carbon fibre steering wheel, cat back exhaust,CAI , Rays 18' wheels,,i have spent a lot of money on my fto so far and i am happy to keep it thats why my ads has been online for couple of mths ... the first time i put my ads on carsales my fto was completly standard..and i just put my CAI on few days ago and its got crazy mivec sounds...the car is clean ,new water pump, timing belt, and just got tappets adjusted last week to make it perfect. ..forgot to take some pics of the internal...i know the mods can't be counted in "price" ..but you were me .. i am sure you would love my car like i do ....

stevo
However even if u loose your deposit the mods he has pumped in would actually save u long term...cos eventaully u will want to do them and it cost more than your deposit thats for sure.

It was advice for the buyer... pretty stock standard to start low and bargin your way up as required - I would consider someone pretty retarded not to start lowist...so a starting point of 13k and see what happens its pretty reasonable and standard approach.
regardless of what u or I think, the price is only what some1 is willing to pay.
