Just asking for opinions:)

Post by Sweet_Sensations »

Hey, 1st post so like hi  I realise this is borderlining the newbie section within this forum so I'll get right to the point!

I'm really tempted to buy a FTO as its in my price range as well as a look that suits my tastes  and throughout the past months I've been continuously searching for one, mainly for curiosity sakes rather then to buy.

though its definite i will eventually buy one, its not now its needed but a certain one grabbed my attention:

Carsales Link

Seems to be too good to be true and I'm one for caution, so who else would be better to ask then the peeps on a website community dedicated to the Fto and drivers.

Is it to good to be true? consider the facts that i still haven't received my P's but will in just over a month, and I've saved up the vast majority of the cash myself through work.

Any recommendations, is it for real? probability of it being stolen or unreliable? please help, I'm really tempted to get it but too paranoid to proceed.

Help!

Judging from the condition i'd say it belongs to someone on the furum.Check in the 4sale section.Just make sure u get it inspected before u purchase the vehicle.

That use to belong to Kev, our resident ex-national vice president. He sold it last year, it's in canberra at the moment.

If what is written in the description is true and the current owner looked great care of it then it's a great buy. I know so many on here wants to buy that if they didn't own an FTO already.

Hmmm, well I found his old thread and they both contain the same pics  though a word of confirmation from the man himself would be great.

Two things confuse me; 1. it is updated on 06th of july and 2. Under name it is TENG. any answers would be much apprciated.

It used to be kev's car, he sold it last year, I guess Teng is the current owner.

Ok i've got heaps of PM about it and i haven't had time to check until now.

Yes thats my old car and no, i've got nothing to do with the advertising on carsales.

I don't know the condition of it now or if all the modifications are still there. The description in carsales is just cut and paste from my original ad here.

All I can say is, when i sold it, the car was in top condition, the paint was without one scratch and heaps of members can vouch for it.

Sweet, I'll ring him tomorrow and ask for an answer to such problems as well as for the cheap price, if the car still has whats been mentioned and so forth.

If everything seems legit I'll go down to ACT to look at the car.

thought i'd PM this rather than post it coz it's only a rumour

rumour has it the guy that bought FTO338's car crashed it
within the first month of owning it...
not sure how much damage was done or how many of
the specialised imported parts on the car had to be replaced with
generic parts... so that could explain the lean price?

but like i said... it's just a rumour... i don't know for sure.

cheers,

Not saying from who this was sent by, but can anyone support or dismiss such a rumour?

Sorry about the questions :( I just want to make sure that I don't get screwed over for something as big as a car, especially my first.

I think you got the hint from my reply and the other members PM.

As the PM said, some of the parts are very hard to find and also all the parts were installed professionally, for example the HID cost me $400 to install as its got extra relay kit, washer, heat and dirt shield for the ballast, also all lights angle had been measure before and after to make sure its legal. I yet to see anyone here gone through that extreme to install a HID kit. So if its been altered, you can spot it straight away.

My advise is, take the list of items i wrote on my original ad and when you inspect it, go through it one by one.
