I think 35% is the darkest ....

I have a mate (haven't spoken to him for a while) that does tinting.. He comes to you ... PM me if you want his details ... I think he charges about $180-$200 ... Depends if you want 10 warranty or lifetime...

I've no clue how dark the tint is on my fto, i know its darker than my station wagon, and it has 38% LE

also the fto has black tint on bottom half with silver reflective tint on about 5cm of the top.

adds for a nice effect, but i am gonna hate the first time i get pulled over in it.

35% is the darkest u can legaly get, anyything below that (20%, 5%) is illegal.

also colours and reflective tint are illegal and the plain colour ones have no uv or glare protection.

i got mine done about 6 months ago and it is just the 35%. i'm very happy with it. :D

i thought about getting 20% but it seemed like a better choice to be legal. "Better safe than sorry" sort of came to mind at the time.

gl with the decision.

35%, 'Metalic Dark Smoke' (Quantum Q38)

Still dark, but with enough reflection that matches the shine of the car body.

Was scared that i'd got them done too dark at the time, but wouldn't change it now.

i thought 33% was legal limit. that might be WA.

theres a variety of jobs u can get done

i got 14% at bottom which fades to i think 18% at top and as mentioned above the bottom is pure mirror haha

i will also hate the date the cops pull me up for something.. ill just do the quick "windows down" job haha

the 35% would do that as I have that on the side windows and a 20% on the back due to ppl. in back seat get abit hot sitting under the window lol
you have to go right up to it and look in and just see what is in there 8)

I get mine done at 20%...

Have had about 4 cars through my mate, going back since 1996... Never had a problem with any of the tints, or never had any probs with the cops...

If your mate is in the shire .. I could get the tinter to set up in the car wash bay at my apartments, and we could do all the cars in the one day ... Might get us a discount ...

where i used to work has a SolAce Tinting just above the office...that's where i got my tinting done....the guy told me 35% is the darkest legal tint. However, there is a 10% tolerance. and one of their product called "midnight express" make use of that tolerance. and thats what i have got on my car now. got it done for $280..

hope this helps.

It's 35%, full stop. There is no tolerance. The RTA measure visible light transmission through a meter placed on either side of your window, and if it's 1% under, it can be deemed unroadworthy.
