rocker cover painting

i have read the post on how to paint the gpx rocker cover thats no prob but i have used back to black on the cover witch has silicone in it how do get that off because paint dosnt like going on to that

First thing I'd probably try would be scrubbing it using one of those scratchy yellow & green washing up sponges, I wouldn't use anything harsher than that or some fine wet & dry sandpaper

otherwise you could try using Turps / Metho or go down to your local Supercheap or something & ask if they have any solvent for removing silicone ... but make sure that you give it a scrub in soapy water afterwards if you try those.

use solvent as a last resort.
cos u use the solvent to clean the original stuff off, u'll still have to scrub it heaps cos of the grooves and what not.
then u wash it with warm soapy water *flash back to yr8 home economic class* to wash the sovent off. u still have to scrub cos of the grooves
then u have to scrub with clean water a few times to make sure everythign is off

and if u've screwed up anywhere along the way at best u'll get bubbles in your paint when it dries, worst case it happens 2 days after lol

then u gotta go through the whole thing again and again.

can u just sand it off with some 300grit wet and dry?
