Vijay,
Get that attitude of yours fixed immediately,
This is no dictatorship!
Its all ours business Chris getting banned,
Although he is a prick sometimes, mostly harmless and funny.
I don’t care he deserves it or not. The part I am against is that these things can be easily fixed via pms, rather than public power display.
Although I am very calm person, getting annoy with this incorrect attitude

Max,

Take it from me, no-one is on a power trip. The only reason I closed the thread was to avoid speculation. Because the detail on why he was banned is no longer in the public part of the forums, a thread like Tarkus' question would mainly consist of pure speculation by people who weren't involved. At the same time I also think that people should not ask out of respect for him.

And Chris should know that I have nothing against him, I've spoken to him heaps, via PM here and on another forum when he bought his R33.

I was not involved in the decision to ban him, but as a moderator I stand by whatever action is taken by fellow moderators/admin/ the Exec.

So far I haven't had a response from Tarkus, the original thread starter, or had comments from the Exec. I'm more than happy to open it if they want to.

I'm a straight shooter, if you have a question for me, tell me and I'll respond.

the reason people are asking is because he's a good friend
and has done a lot for the vic branch of FTO aus...

...but i agree that some things are better off discussed
via PM's rather than starting a sh!t fight in the forums.

hopefully the dust settles on this and everyone can sort things out

We are asking out of the entire community. Or at least I am.

A forum community only needs moderators for one thing. Removal of inappropriate content. That's all. Ever. Administrators are the ones who should be in charge of determining whether a user should be banned or not.

Furthermore, removal of posts is NOT. ON. I repeat, NOT. ON.

The only people who remove posts are cowards or people who run the forum like they own it and everything in it. Its a COMMUNITY, its for the general public's use, and should simply be monitored by the moderators for any inappropriate content. And by inappropriate content, I'm talking about:
  • Not Work Safe or rude images
  • Racism or defamation
The community should take care of itself if run correctly. I can't even believe the ban was put in place. I saw his posts (before they were deleted) and there was absolutely no reason for it. One person thought Chris was being snappy or rude, and bam he was gone. Chris was CORRECTING a guy about his lack of knowledge about cars, and that was it. Despicable.

oodLes - FYI, the posts you refer to are NOT the sole reason why a decision was made to ban Chris. And this sort of discussion is exactly why I chose to lock the other thread.

I don't know the story so i won't comment, but i can say this, it's a shame to lose a guy like him from the group.

I know he has his moments, who doesn't, but he contributed so much to this forum and i hope that this ban can be sorted out asap and the ban isn't permanent.

It's a huge loss to this little community.
