FTO AUSTRALIA

I brought an FTO recently to complete as a project and was wondering if someone could help me decode my VIN as I have been told different things by different sources. Any help is much appreciated.

It is a 1996 GP Special

I thought this was the case but hardly know anything about this model apart from it had different body styling details. Are there any other differences that anyone could tell me?
