Drags in Perth Wed 13 March (2019)

I'm off to the drags again tonight, Perth Motorplex for Whoop Ass Wednesday.
Chasing my 13.768 time and looking forward to seeing if my couple of mods have made a positive improvement.

Had the charge cooler, supercharger and alternator off to fit a new double drive pulley on the alternator, it's a slightly larger one from Z-Industries, my design but their expertise and has their GripTec micro machining process applied to it.

Also fitted Whiteline extra castor bushes a few months ago in an attempt to reduce wheel hop and improve traction - we'll see.

Had our two FTO's there, my Supercharged Tiptronic and my Son Rowans Manual Turbo with forged internals, and a guy with a dark blue GR that he bought a week ago - forgot his name.
Only had one helmet between us (need to sort this out) so we never got to race together but who got the fastest time?

My Supercharged FTO of course, 13.887 (still didn't beat my prev best of 13.768)
Rowans Turbo 14.2 - he only did two passes and it was his first time, he needs to practice launches as the staging caught him out a bit.

I had 5 races, won 3 out of 5 beating a few scooby doos, my times were pretty consistent except the first run:
14.256 - Win
13.977 - Win
13.887 - Win
13.878 - Lose (to 13.790), my terminal was 164.59kph
13.941 - Lose (to 13.908)

Nice stuff! Cool that you can actually see the machining on the pulley.

Is Rowans basically done now or does it still require some fine-tuning?

14.2 seems low for a boosted manual, isn't it the RPW car :P

Rowans hasn't had any real tuning only what I've done in the emanage software, he needs to put a stiffer spring in the wastegate and then either I tune it again (as best as I can) or he finds somewhere in WA that does emanage tuning. Haltech is out of the question at the moment (budget) but he'll have to move to that in the long run. Not sure exactly where his turbo is coming in but I think it may be around 4500rpm.

I'm fitting a Snow Performance Meth / Water injection kit to mine in the next week or so, fitting it just before the supercharger which should have a good cooling effect on the charger as well as the intake charge. I'm running the charger past it's recommended speed now so it's losing efficiency at the top end mainly due to heat. The meth/water will also help seal the charger around the rotors.

His first time at the drags and only did 2 runs, needs to practice launching as he was just holding it on the biting point with hardly any revs on.
Yes the engine was rebuilt by RPW with forged internals but no tuning by them, I think he's only got a 12psi spring in the Wastegate at the moment.

Haven't been on in a while.
Went back to the drags at the end of the season and ran a 13.5 so pretty chuffed about that.
Perth Motorplex is opening again soon so we'll see what happens this season, not expecting too much of an improvement but I've recently done catback exhaust as that was standard (already have rpw extractors and high flow cat on), it sounds better anyway.

Good to know the current one runs better than the original you had in the UK.
