Clear Repeaters - anyone got an idea what they're off?
I've only seen these come up twice in the past 4yrs of ownership and I've always missed out by a whisker. Sourcing the vehicle they come from is proving a challenge.
The guy who had these painted the white plastic black. Other than that, they are identical to the standard orange repeaters:

You can always source Dspeed clear indicators from Japan

Re: Clear Repeaters - anyone got an idea what they're off?
I've got a set from an MX5 and they fit fine, but the ones shown are not from an MX5 - I grabbed the bulb holder from an MX5 too as don't want to muck around cutting the slots, etc.
They have the same mouldings as the orange set and don't require the holder to be modified to fit the bulb holder.
The number of complaints I see about the D-Speed lenses falling-off puts me off getting any. They're also not cheap.

Admittedly, they could have designed the clip part a bit better instead of the plastic part they could've put a better metal version, but mine have never fallen off, and I haven't modified them or glued then in at allMaxD wrote:The number of complaints I see about the D-Speed lenses falling-off puts me off getting any. If you have issues it's nothing a bit of modifying or glue couldn't fix

Yep, I lost one of the D-Speed lenses this way. Even so, I grabbed another set. They just look so much better than any of the alternatives, so worth the cost.MaxD wrote:The number of complaints I see about the D-Speed lenses falling-off puts me off getting any. They're also not cheap.

If a decent, but cheap set become available, I'll give them a go. I can't warrant the high cost at the moment.
I've still not worked out what the white non-MX5 repeater holders are on the first post of this thread. It would be handy to know...

No, the mg zt indicators are for the indicators in the facelift front bar. They wont fit in the holes in the guards. Guess there might be another mg indicator thatwould fit, but I havent ever heard ofany other than the one for the front bar.nicolehoitink wrote:Apparently the one of the mg models also fit

For reference it's the MG ZT or ZT-F indicators that fit into the facelift front bumper. Inner pods are 3.3" and need something a little different. Thankfully Ebay has a lot to chose from.

Strange .. I have had 3 sets, no issues... The ones on Bobby were on there for a good 5+ years...dstocks wrote:Yep, I lost one of the D-Speed lenses this way. Even so, I grabbed another set. Re: Clear Repeaters - anyone got an idea what they're off?
In the UK, the rears can be as dark as you like as long as the reflector is visible/reflective. In essence, this alone determines how dark you can go. For the front, I'm not sure why you'd want to reduce the light output!
I went for something a little more pleasing for my rears - a red tint. I have CREE XPE amber bulbs for the indicators else standard halogen/LED are simply not bright enough.
