I have purchased 6000 used pavers (237 sq m) from Mitchell Park in Adelaide.
On Saturday 8th August I will be hiring an 8 tonne flat top truck to get them to Pirie.
I have to hand load the pavers onto the truck.

If you can lend a hand to load the truck Sue and I would be very grateful.

I have organised a fork lift to unload them at my property, so I don't need help unloading.

BTW.... I am currently on crutches as I injured myself at work on Wednesday.
While trying to crack 1000nm wheel bolts on a "track" tractor with a 2M breaker bar, I found 5 bolts were impossable to crack.
So being the inteligent person that I am I decided that standing on the breaker bar would be a succesful idea.
Until the bolt cracked with the sound of a shotgun and the breaker bar fell away from me and I landed back on the breaker bar with my heel.
Anyway, no broken bones, just tissue and pride damaged.
Hoping to be off the crutches before next weekend.

This is the type of tractor...
I had to replace the tracks, they weigh in at 550kg each

I'm still unconfirmed. I'm meant to have a squadron safety brief at 12:00hr on the 8th but unsure if that is going ahead and how long it'll take.

Anyway the workshop doesn't have a 1" rattle gun, the 3/4" would have no chance!

Thats awesome Kiz, it was going to be slow going for just Sue, Steven and myself.
We are picking up the truck from Mile End at 10am, then driving to Mitchell Park to get the pavers.
So I would say you could be there around 11am.
I will text you the address later.
...and I will bring the tappet tool.

A giant huge THANKS to Kiz, for helping Sue, Steven and myself on Saturday.
We couldn't have done it without your help

I was told that there was 6000 pavers @ 1kg each = 6 Tonne.
So I hired an 8 Tonne truck.
It took us from 10am to 6pm to load up the truck. we worked non-stop and we were all sore at the end.
We ended up with 8 pallets loaded, 2 huge + 4 medium + 2 small.
We had to leave 1200 pavers behind as the truck tyres were already bulging under the weight.
After wrapping and tieing down the load, we arrived back in Pirie @ 11:30pm.

Sunday morning I took the truck up to my block of dirt to have it unloaded by my neighbours forklift.
The fork could lift 1 tonne, but it couldn't lift any of the pallets off of the truck, they were too heavy.
It looked like it would all have to be hand unloaded

Then my neighbour phoned a local farmer and asked him to bring his telle-handler(mobile crane/fork) around to help.
1 hour later he arrived with the machine which could lift 2.5 tonne.
The small pallets were easy, the medium pallets were at the limit, the large pallets had to be reduced in size as he couldn't lift them.
The truck finnally got unloaded and the we drove it back to Adelaide and returned it 4.5 hours late (an extra $150 hire fee)

So we had loaded 12 tonne of pavers onto an 8 tonne truck and drove it through the city and then 200km through the country.

Sounds like a good pre workout routine.

How are your arms feeling today?

I'm not too bad considering, but Sue has very sore/stiff arms + legs.

I haven't had any "alone" time yet, but my arms are pretty sore so I might leave it a week

It's happening again

Last time we could only load 4800 pavers and the truck was overfull.

We have another 1200 pavers to go so we are hiring the truck again.

This is going to be done on Saturday 12th September.
