Front Strut Brace Problem
Hi all,
I bought Ultra Racing performance strut braces but sadly it wont fit in my GPX due to the traction control unit on the TB:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTg_on9-u6Y
Does anyone know what brands work with the TCL models? Such a shame though because these Ultra Racing Braces are very nice.
The guys I bought it off is making me a custom one that is 7mm raised. But just incase it dosn't fit I want to buy one that does.
Thanks!

Re: Front Strut Brace Problem
I would have thought cusco and version R ones would fit. Ive sold heaps of both in the past and never had an issue. Will try and post pics of the intake tonight (at work atm)

Do I just pull it out the traction control? Wouldn't those loose air piping cause problems? Do you guys have a guide somewhere?

Bought it yesterday Seller location was 5 mins drive form home. The ultra racing one feels better when I tried friends one. Will compare with the custom one I had made.

Re: Front Strut Brace Problem
The Cusco and the VersionR (Ralliart) braces (same design) are the best you can get. There are several different cusco ones though. You want the one with the flat bar thats about 4cm wide (guess). The ends should be blue. Have seen the Ulta racing ones. They may be equivalent, but wont be better.

Re: Front Strut Brace Problem
Ultra racing is a flashy yet rubbish brand... I know a handful of people that have had problems with the welds. I had U.R. braces on my zuk and broke 2 of them just through use.
I think Bennoz also had a 4 point brace snap a weld.

This is the one I bought, what do you guys thing?
The Ultra Racing one I have (that didn't fit) feels a lot stronger as it's actually welded.
Do I have to adjust this cusco one?

Re: Front Strut Brace Problem
Thats the one that the GPvR comes with from factory (although pink ends), all you have to do is put it on and tighten the bolt at either end once it's in

Yeap compared with the Ultra Racing one, the Ultra is far more superior, one solid piece

Re: Front Strut Brace Problem
Nope, wrong. The cusco/version R ones are thicker and wont flex as much. Cheaper ones like those will flex more. Believe it or not, the bolts arent really a negative as once the brace is bolted down, it wont move. The 3 bolt down points on either side are importand when buying a brace (never buy one with only 2). The thickness of the bar is important and the strength of the bar itself is as well. You cant beat the one you have. The Brace youhave sells for over $300 new usually.Invader_X wrote:Yeap compared with the Ultra Racing one, the Ultra is far more superior, one solid piece
