My son (and I) are going to have a look at it tomorrow, just wondered if anyone happens to know it and it's history, if not no worries.

Haven't seen it at any meets in the past 4 years. Looks straight enough but the rego just ran out. Could mean money to get it roadworthy.

That FTO has been for sale for a long time.
I remember seeing those pics for ages.

I don't know the car, but I would give it a thorough look over.
+ I would make sure it has a clean history
+ I would do some good low ball offering

Had a look this morning and he's picking it up tomorrow, it's not perfect but they settled on $2500.

Front end is quite low so don't know what's going on with the front springs but hopefully that's not a big job if it needs doing.
I'm not completely happy with the engine and did say if it were me i'd be close to walking away but it was a good price, probably needs fuel filter, spark plugs, timing belt and water pump, maybe new alt tensioner and or ps pulley but I can sort all that for him if he gets the parts.
Body work isn't bad - probably had a respray not too long ago.
Looks like at least one cam seal had been replaced on the front bank (or cleaned very well), didn't notice any oil leaks.
Underneath looks ok, minimal surface rust.

Will know more when we get it back but will see when I take it in for roadworthy, fingers crossed that I haven't missed something major.

Just picked it up, it's far from perfect but so far seems ok for the money.
I need to respray my facelift anyway, hope I have time before the bonfire.

His is on the right, mine is the one on the left covered in crap (we had a storm and i'm too lazy to clean)

Need to sort the left sideskirt, looks like it's been cemented on.

If the body is straight and the engine is alright then you've picked up a decent FTO.
