Hi, I've searched around and couldn't get a specific answer I was looking for and I couldn't get my head around the wheel section of the tyre bible. I'm aware of the stud pattern
I'm looking to change my wheels to 17" from stock.
Are the dimensions I'm looking for specific and what are they?
If I got wheels with say for example 17x8 ET36 would they fit?
Same questions for tyres too.
Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Those specs you mentioned should work.

^ Willtheyfit.com is a good reference. Stock sizes are 205/50R16 on a 16x6.5 +38.

Are there any consequences if the wheels are too big? Other than rubbing at max lock?

Re: Wheels and tyres
Has more to do with tyres/wheel offset and width in that regard. Unless you're planning on fitting 19 inch wheels. If tyres are too close to fender they can clip like mine used to. Will especially if guards aren't rolled. Also depending on tyre size, can put your speedo out.whwotjd wrote:Are there any consequences if the wheels are too big? Other than rubbing at max lock?
Other than that there are things like reduced rate of acceleration and reduced braking efficiency but unless you are particularly observant I don't think you'll really notice.

Re: Wheels and tyres
If you're lowered you'll get bad contact going over bumps and dips. It's also not roadworthy to have wheels that are more than 2 inches larger than stock in Vic.
It's also punishable if you get fully hektik f**k off chrome rims (ie dinner plates or could-knock-a-747-out-of-the-sky-reflection)

Re: Wheels and tyres
+36 offset shouldn't rub on full lock.
