Exterior Trim

Post by ObsidianRadio »

Hey guys,

The black trim that goes around the windows and the black trim on the doors... Can it be removed at all? Is there a specific way to take it off and put it back on again? I'll be needing to remove it soon 8)

Yep, refer to Bennoz's sig

Basically pull the rubber on the inside of the door at the top off then undo all the screws and it comes off, that gets the panel that runs along the roof off (the one that weatherstrips go on).

Unsure about other bits, don't think the door ones come off but on the smaller back window I'm not sure.

Another one; How to I take the mirrors off the doors? Like completely off?

Nope, the strip on the rear window is not removable. To get the window out,it has to be cut out. As for the mirrors, there are 2 bolts holding them in if you fold your mirrors in you should be able to see them through the gap. A socket gets them out. You can also turn the mirrors manually in both directions to get at them. Once youve removed the bolts, you just need to unclip the wiring loom and it will come right off (5 min job)
