Re: Bonfire 2014
It wont be over the causeway. Hasnt rained in the last hour and a half, so I think thats it. And given it isnt over the causeway now, it wont go up any higher. Cant say my pothole repairs have stood up well to the rain though .

Re: Bonfire 2014
OK, wasnt taking into account the water backed up the creek. It continiued to come up after the rain stopped. Craig (rockit) had to come through 20cm of water over the causeway last night.
Its down to 10 cm this morning and will hopefully be down further by the time people arrive. I will have signs up at the causeway showing where to park if you dont want to cross yet. If you hit the horn, we should hear it from my place and I can send someone down to you.
On the plus side, should make for some great photos.

Re: Bonfire 2014
As per usual, was an epic weekend... only 365 days til the next one.. not that I'm counting.
Awesome to catch up with everyone and see everyone's cars and put some more faces to names. I actually had a nice FTO this year
Big thank you to Dstocks and family for hosting us and putting up with our shenanigans.
Big effort from the Queerslanders for the drive down, good on you guys. And Technikhaus wins the award for most epic bonfire journey. That one will be difficult to beat. Maybe someone driving from Perth or something?
Awesome weekend as it always is like I said, looking forward to next year already.
Also, did someone happen to find $50 near my car or may have knocked it out of my car or something? I had some money on my passenger seat and I am missing $50 from it.

Re: Bonfire 2014
I am sooooooo tired.
Thanks for making the effort to get here everyone. The success of these events is what keeps the club strong. In the end, the weather was pretty kind to us yet again. Must admit I was quite worried leading up to the day.
Firstly id like to thank my wife for her efforts to make this event a success. She always puts in a lot of time planning, shopping preparing food, tidying up and generally holding down the fort while I stand around talking. She gets very little thanks for this as she is one in the background making things tick along smoothly, so id like to publicly thank her for indulging me and the club.
Id also like to thank Craig for coming down the night before to help set up and braving the flooded causeway. I couldnt have got everything done without help.
Thanks also to Bennoz and Shumie for taking the breakfast cooking duties.
And thanks to the QLD, VIC, SA and NZ contingents that made the huge drive to get here.
Im sorry I didnt get to spend more time with people before they left this morning. We finished wrapping Craigs swift around lunch time. I hope people got something out of the wrapping session and it was a shame I didnt get a chance to demo the dipping. Maybe next time.
Hope you all had a good enough time to return again next time.
I do have a few pictures to post, but they will come later.
cheers
